Jindal Stainless supplies stainless steel for the Kanpur Metro Rail project

Spurring the development of a robust metro rail infrastructure in the country, Jindal Stainless supplied stainless steel to Alstom for the Kanpur Metro Rail project. The Company supplied high quality stainless steel in various tempers (strength levels) and finishes to Alstom. The first trainset was handed over to Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) by Alstom on September 18, 2021. This trainset was unveiled at a ceremony in Savli, Gujarat and was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath. The scope of the metro project includes design and development of 201 coaches, with each coach consuming approximately 9-10 metric tonnes of stainless steel supplied by Jindal Stainless.
