The Jindal Stainless Foundation has been running skilling programs for women in the area of stitching and tailoring for a long time now. A Centre run by the Foundation in Hisar, Haryana, known by the name of OP Jindal Vikas Kendra ‘Unnat’ has seen hundreds of women graduate each year with course completion certificates, and becoming successful entrepreneurs in and arounds their homes.
In Dhabalgiri, Odisha, Jindal Stainless Foundation supported the Rehabilitation Centre for Women (a unit under National Institute for Social Work) by providing a qualified tailoring teacher for their new Centre. Inaugurated in 2019, this Centre trains girls and women in the skill of tailoring to make them employable and hence, financially independent.
