EU prolongs its tariffs on stainless steel imports from China and Taiwan
April 24, 2023
The European Commission announced that it has prolonged anti-dumping tariffs on stainless steel fittings from China and Taiwan for another five years. The Commission also extended these tariffs to Malaysia, as its investigation found that Chinese producers were using assembly operations there to evade applicable tariffs. The review concluded that lifting the tariffs would have resulted in continued dumping in the European Union market, which is worth approximately €100 million ($111 million) per year. These measures were initially implemented in 2017 for stainless steel tubes and pipe fittings.
