China’s stainless steel exports significantly increase YoY in Dec 2024

China’s customs data revealed that the country’s stainless steel exports in December last year totaled 465,700 tons, marking a 6.01% increase from the previous month and a significant 38.8% rise compared to the same month in the prior year. This growth continued for the second consecutive month.
At the same time, imports reached 142,300 tonnes, showing a 9.26% month-on-month increase but a 46.9% decline year on year.
For 2024, total exports amounted to 5.04 million tonnes, reflecting a 2.9% year-on-year increase, while imports decreased by 9.33% year-on-year to 1.88 million tons.
