Jindal Stainless supplies JT tubes and sheets for building modern and safe stainless steel buses.
Stainless Steel tubes reduce the weight of the superstructure by 30-35%; an average weight reduction varies between 400-600 kg/bus leading to fuel savings of as much as INR 10,000 - INR 15,000 per month, if the bus traverses a distance of 400-450 km daily. Beyond 450 km, the fuel savings is in excess of INR 15,000/month.
The multi-faceted properties of Stainless Steel help designers to create buses and coaches with reduced weight, longer service life with almost nil maintenance, lesser CO2 footprint, and increased safety for passengers. It also provides excellent corrosion resistance with good formability and weldability.
All the major global bus body manufacturers are producing buses made of stainless steel and some of the major state road transport corporations like Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Kerala have already started using stainless steel in their bus bodies. Even electric buses in Europe are made out of stainless steel, primarily to reduce weight and increase the longevity of battery life.
The fabrication and installation of stainless steel superstructures, stainless steel chequered sheets for floors, do not require any additional investment on equipment, and can be easily installed by the State Road Transport Corporations, at their own workshops by their own employees.Jindal Stainless is India’s largest manufacturer of stainless steel in 200, 300, 400, and duplex grade stainless steel products. The Company offers an experience of five decades and a clear focus on consumer needs.
The strength of the JT tube supplied by Jindal Stainless is almost 3 times higher than that of currently used GI tubes, and the corrosion resistance of JT grade is significantly higher than carbon steel tubes/sheets.
The Company also provides wide availability & prompt delivery at competitive prices. In addition to excellent consumer service, Jindal Stainless also offers a free 3 days hands-on training program on fabrication with stainless steel at various OEMs and workshops of State Road Transport Corporations across India.
