INSG: Global demand for nickel will rise to 3.02 million tonnes

INSG said that the global nickel demand is expected to increase to 3.02 million tonnes in 2022 from 2.78 million tonnes last year. INSG added that the global nickel production is expected to increase from 2.61 million tonnes last year to 3.08 million tonnes in 2022, mainly due to the expected increase in output in Indonesia and China. There was a supply deficit of 168,000 mt in the nickel market in 2021, and a surplus of 67,000 mt is expected in 2022, said INSG.
