Human
Rights

Jindal Stainless has been engaged in creating greater awareness among various stakeholders on issues related to rights, especially in the domain of environment and security, and has been developing internal grievance mechanism processes. In addition to this, the Company has constantly been engaged with industry associations to deliberate on the verticals of business and human rights. This has paid off with the CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) taking keen interest to promote the UNGP on Business and Human Rights. The Company has been instrumental in establishing a CEO Forum on Business and Human Rights and is working closely with several institutions for the promotion of the second pillar of ‘Respect’ of the UNGP as articulated by Prof John Ruggie framework. In the process, the National Human Right Commission has also held consultations and furthered the cause.

Jindal Stainless collaborated with Global Business Initiative (GBI), a business led programme to advance human rights in business around the world, in August 2010 to promote and protect human rights within the company and its area of operations. It is one of the only leadership platforms for dialogue on a company to company level with regard to the human rights responsibilities of business. Various training programs are organized for the employees to sensitize them about business and human rights.
