Group CFO participates in ‘The CFO Speak’ hosted by CNBC TV18 and Moneycontrol

Jindal Stainless participated in an engaging virtual discussion hosted by Moneycontrol and CNBC TV18 titled ‘The CFO Speak: Unlocking Opportunities in Metal & Mining‘ on April 20, 2021. Group CFO, Mr Anurag Mantri deliberated on the topic ‘Re-inventing Finance: with Process, People & Technology’.
Mr Mantri mentioned that in today’s age, the CFO’s role is 80% strategic and 20% routine. It is no longer data gathering, but ‘datalytics’. He added that the CFO of today must be prepared to occupy the driver’s seat in business, and perform wide-ranging functions, right from risk management to sales and product mix.
“When COVID hit us last year and the cash reserves went dry, we switched from a 20% export strategy to an 80% export mix to maintain a healthy cash balance. Besides, we’ve been using data and technology to maximise return on capital employed; which remains as one of the major goals. The importance of data security across the organization can also not be undermined”, added Mr Mantri.
